Christmas tree time

We went to a cute Christmas tree farm in Lacey this year. We went in the early afternoon on a Tuesday and we were the ONLY people there. It was perfect.

We saw baby goats and pigs, a turkey and some reindeer. Brett really could care less about the animals this year but I imagine next year, he will be thrilled!

We drove way in the back of the property to pick the perfect noble.

We ran from tree to tree, playing "marco polo" to find eachother. Brett was on Rob's shoulders most of the time, he had a ball!

Pumpkin Patch

Brett's first trip to the pumpkin patch was a success! We went, we saw, we picked out little pumpkins for our baby friends coming over on Halloween, it was perfect!

I think next year will be a little more fun. It was just fun to visit a pumpkin patch, I hadn't been in years.

My other favorite part was that they had horse rides there ... that's not my favorite part, my favorite part is that the sign for the rides said "get a ride from duke and dick!" What the heck?!?! Who names their horse Dick! Whoa.

Toofers and on the move

Brett has two teeth and is crawling! About two weeks ago, he started to crawl! He had been kind of crawling for a week or so but all of the sudden, just took off! He is loving his new found independence! We are in the process of baby proofing our house. For now we have pillows around the fire place and blue painter's tape on the outlets, we need some baby proofing "stuff" and we need it quick! Brett has his 6 month check up on Thursday ... even though he is 7 months today! Rob is taking the day off work to go to the appointment and then we are heading to the pumpkin patch! I think a stop to Target is in order to pick up some outlet covers etc.

He also has two teeth and more that are on their way in. This has been hard. For him AND for us. None of us have been sleeping well ): I just feel so bad for the guy and wish there was more we could do for him! He seems to feel pretty good during the day but it's night time that is hard. Let me know if any of you out there have suggestions ... we are desperate!

My friend Nicole, took pictures of Brett last Thursday. I can't wait to get them back! She does an amazing job!

Little Man

It's official. Brett is a little man.

He has done some amazing things this week! Get this, in the past 4 days, he is rolling over back and forth like a mad man, he is up on all fours rocking back and forth, he will crawl any day now and he cut his first tooth! It has been kind of a long week too ... cutting toofers hurts! At his last Dr. appointment, the doctor told us that if adults had to cut teeth, we would need morphine! Poor guy.

I tried to take a picture of his tooth but it is SO hard to see inside his mouth, he doesn't like me messing around in there. Who could blame him?!

New back pack

The other school counselors in my district gave us a gift card to Little Sweet Pea. Since I was gone in the Spring, I got it just last week. It was nice to have a gift card now that Brett is older. The things he needs now are way differant than what he needed 6 months ago! I had been wanting to get a back pack and had been in this store a few times because it usually has great prices, it's a consignment store. I got Brett's Johnny Jump Up there. I walked in and saw this back pack right away and knew what I was going to spend the gift card on! The gift card paid for half so we got a SWEET back pack for a great deal, love it! It's one of those Sherpani's, very light weight and doesn't feel too cumbersome.

Jump up, jump up and get down!

Brett loves his Johnny jump up...so much he has fallen sleep in it twice! I wonder if it's engrained in him after all that bouncing on the excercise ball!

Kitty friends and sippy cups

Brett did two really cool things yesterday. He sat up for a LONG time by himself and watched his "kitty friend" eat some dog food on the back portch. Then he drank out of a sippy cup! He is getting so big!
