QUOTE OF THE DAY

Every time words are spoken, something is created. Be conscious of what you say and how you say it. Use words that build up, appreciate, encourage and inspire.

Sexual Exhaustion?

I went to a Love and Logic training today. Jim Fay, the "creator" was the presenter. It was informative and funny. He told a couple of pretty entertaining stories. It was cute because he is pretty old! He mentioned that he and his wife have been married for almost 52 years! Amazing ... Rob and I are going on 2 years, I can't imagine what another 50 feels like! I bet the relationship evolves into something unexplainable. Anyway, the fact that he has been married for 52 years gives you an idea of how old he is, which made it all the more comical when he used words like "bitch." Hee.. hee. The story that was extra funny to me went like this. It was a state testing day (for us, a WASL day), and a middle school student refused to start working on his test. When his teacher asked him "Jake, what's the problem, why aren't you working?" The boy replied "sexual exhaustion." Now at this point, Jim Fay went on to explain that sometimes we just have NO idea what to do OR say! So the teacher says to him "well, why don't you just use your other hand to write?" I was dying, I'm not sure if it's because it was kind of a stuffy crowd, so that made it all the more comical or if it really was that funny! I still think it's pretty funny!

Quotes

I love quotes, I always have. The power of words is amazing. I like to have lots of positive words around me at work. Lord knows, thinking positively when I'm there is not always easy! My office is filled with quotes hanging on the wall, and I often refer to them when I talk to kids. So I think I will post a quote as often as I can. They make you think, I like that! Here is my first one!

Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.

Running..

So I have been trying to run every other day. I am not sure if you were driving down the street and you saw me, if you would quite call it "running." But, running sounds WAY better than jogging - way more official, so I go with it (: It is slowly getting easier and easier. I am not a "runner." I used to play lots of soccer but that is completely differant. The last couple of weeks I have found myself in pain for the first few minutes. Slowly but surely it is getting easier and easier. It gives me a great sense of accomplishment when I push through and finish! That feeling can become addicting .... I guess there are worse things to be addicted to eh? Sometimes when I run, I think about how lucky I am to be able to even use my body that way, it helps put things in perspective ... kind of! Well, off I go for tonights run, I think this post was just my way of procrastinating!

I'll try it ....

As more and more of my friends start this blogging thing, I have started to think it's a cool thing! Even if it is a friend I see once a year or someone I see every week, it is fun to hear what the people I care about are up to. That is one reason I think this blogging "stuff" is cool, another is that I have always loved to journal. Ever since I was a little girl, my most prized possession was my diary! I still remember my first diary... full of crushes and feuds with friends. I would love to read through those bad boys now! Anyway, I am hoping this blog will be a creative outlet for me as well as something fun for friends and family to read.
