13 Months

Brett is 13 months old! I can't believe that I am officially the Mom of a toddler.

This past year has FLOWN bye! I am constantly thinking to myself, "I wish it would slow down." I just want to soak it all up. I try to be aware and to just enjoy this time when he is small and when he is a only child.

At Brett's 12 month check up his stats went something like this.

Weight - 70th percentile

Head circumference - 70th percentile

Height - .... 45th percentile!

He is a little ham these days. This little boy has such a BIG personality! Rob and I love to sit and watch the hilarious things he does. We feel like he "gets it" and that is super fun!

Here are some recent pictures. A couple of them are from when he went to the dentist for his first appointment. He also had a visit to the optometrist as well. He did great at both!

First Birthday Party!

All of our family and closest friends came to help celebrate Brett's first birthday. It was lots of fun and I hope Brett will enjoy looking at the pictures some day. I have already decided, next year, it's a trip to the Zoo!

Cousin Kate

Our niece, Kathryn JoAnn Poyner, was born on February 11th around 10pm in the evening. We were all so excited! I had been talking to Brett about his cousin Kate that was coming for some time, telling him about all the fun that was in store for the two of them. They are just 11 months apart.

Kate was beautiful .. of course! She was so tiny and perfect. My favorite part about the visit besides meeting my new niece was seeing my friend/sister-in-law and Rob enbark on this most amazing experience. They were both so wonderful with Kate. I can't wait to watch as we all grow and learn together and figure out this parenting gig.

Brett had so much fun at the hospital. He was walking here and there which was fun. He was loving getting horsey rides on Grandpa's shoulders.

He was very calm with Kate. He knew that she was small and fragile, it was cute and made me feel better about bringing a sibling into the mix some day!

We love you baby Kate!

10 1/2 Months Old

Here are some recent pictures of Brett. He took two steps the other day when Grandpa and Grandma Wilson were visiting! Then, the next day he took two steps while Rob and I were on the living room floor playing with him! I was glad we both got to see it at the same time!

The poor guy has been struggling from ear infections. Before the infection in his left ear had time to go away, he started to get one in his right ear! It has made for some rough nights for all. I just hope he feels better soon.

Christmas Morning

Christmas has an whole other meaning now.

Our first Christmas with Brett was the BEST! I haven't been so excited for Christmas morning since I was a little girl!

Can't wait for next year!
