Stock Photography

My friend Nicole is a talented photographer. She mostly photographs weddings, children and families now but a awhile back she was working for a company that specialized in stock photography. What is stock photography? Well, let's say you go and buy a new lap top computer and on the box is a picture of a business man looking totally excited about what he is viewing on whatever kind of computer it is ... that computer's advertising department probably bought that stock photograph from a photographer's library. So for awhile there, Nicole enlisted her buds to take some stock photos for her business venture, it was fun! Well, Nicole sent me an email the other day letting me know that someone had purchased "me." It's funny.... (:

Check it out!!!
So fun!

how is it being preggers? I miss ya.

Our first purchase for buddy.

After our ultrasound, we went to this cute little children's store next to Wagner's baker in down town Olympia. We had to buy "something!" I found this little vest and thought it was too cute.

It's a boy!

Since the very beginning of this pregnancy, I have had a feeling .... girl. So, as I looked a baby things, I seemed to gravitate towards girl things. On Tuesday we went in for our "big" ultrasound and found out I was wrong! I couldn't be more excited! Rob is a little extra excited too! I am so excited for a sweet little boy, I can't wait! I never had a preference, after what we had been through, I would always tell people, "a baby of any kind will due" and I couldn't have meant it more.

On Monday night, the night before we were going to find out, I picked up two small pumpkins at the store. We carved girl in one and boy in the other, then took pictures with our phones of each, so when we found out all we had to do was send the right picture! It worked out well, except for the peeps who can't get picture messages ... oops!

It was amazing what we saw in our ultrasound. We even got to see fluid in our son's tummy which meant he is swallowing! SO cool! The little things like that absolutely amazed me. I was quiet most of the time with a perma-grin and Rob and the ultrasound tech chatted it up!

The ultrasound tech did say that everything looked perfect with the baby but that my placenta was in a "low lying position." I guess most of the time, the placenta will migrate up as the pregnancy progresses but she said she has seen alot of them and mine doesn't look like the kind that is going to move. If it doesn't move, it just means I will need a c-section, no biggie as long as the baby is safe, I'm cool with it. Not ideal but I'm fine with it. We have another ultrasound scheduled for November 18th to see if it is moving. Yay for another ultrasound!! I have attached some pics, enjoy!

Fall.....

Fall has always been my favorite time of year. I love warm, yummy drinks, cozy sweaters, fires, anything that smells like cinnamon, coming home on a blustery day to a crockpot dinner cooking and smelling up the house and much, much more.

My Mom came down this weekend and she thinks the Wallflowers from Bath and Body spue chemicals, I don't doubt that they do. The more I started to think about it, the more I started to agree with her, even though I didn't know for sure. No need to breathe a bunch of crap I don't need to, especially since I'm prego. My Mom put some cloves, cinnamon sticks and some water in a mini crockpot I have and it smells WONDERFUL! I love the idea! I don't care as long as I get my cinnamon smell!

We still need to pick out some pumpkins. Next year will be a trip to the pumpkin patch I'm sure! I love Fall!

It's been too long!

Well, I've managed to go the entire month of September without an update! Since my last entry, we have had another ultrasound at 12 weeks and 3 days, and buddy looked more like a baby! Not sure if I have mentioned it but we've been calling him/her buddy until we find out what buddy is. Speaking of that, we find out on October 21st, just a week away and we can't wait! We have been referred back to the OB who referred me to Dr. Moruzzi for fertility issues. So, we haven't been getting those ultrasounds every two weeks, darn it! We have had to wait until 20 weeks like everyone else (: I understand why they wait until 20 weeks to do the in-depth ultrasound now, the nurse explained that things aren't fully developed until then and while gender is what we want to know about, they look for and measure lots of things during the ultrasound and if it was done any earlier, they may not catch some of those things due to lack of developement.

I feel great except that I have been sick for about 2 weeks now! I swear, I will get used to all of these kid germs some day. It seems like it never fails, the beginning of each school year I get sick. My morning sickness was text book, it went away right after I hit the 12 week mark. I also have more energy now that I'm in the second trimester. The tummy continues to grow and the students at school are starting to look and whisper! I am enjoying it all, just feeling so blessed to be experiencing it, the good and the "unpleasant."

The other cool thing is that we ordered a fetal heart doppler from bellybeats.com. We absolutely LOVE it! We listen to buddy in the morning and at night. It's such a great way for Rob to get involved. I get these weekly updates on the developement of buddy and this last one recommended that Rob pick out a book and read it to buddy every night, Rob loved that idea and wants to pick the book out himself, he is so cute (:

That's all for now! I will try and update this more frequently so these marathon posts won't happen! Oh yeah, and maybe I should let some friends and family know about this darn thing too!

Ultrasound #3

We found out this week that because I am an IVF patient, my doctor will do ultrasounds every 2-3 weeks until I am 24 weeks, we are PUMPED about that! That means we will get to find out what we are having fairly early, which will be super nice. We had an ultrasound yesterday and it was again, amazing! I am 9 and a half weeks. It's amazing how much has changed in 2 weeks. We saw the little girl or guy's arm buds and legs and head. They little guy had much more of a shape. The best part about the entire thing is that he/she was moving! Our doctor said "oh, looks like they are doing the baby dance" it was precious. Our doc is going on vacation so our next ultrasound will be three weeks away on Sept. 4th, we can't wait!
